This IEA report sets out a roadmap for Indonesia to reach net zero emissions by 2060 or earlier, while supporting economic growth and its ambition to move towards advanced economy status.
The report analyses Indonesia’s energy transition across key areas including people-centred transitions, coal phase-down, investment and financing needs, and critical minerals. It also explores a higher-ambition pathway in which Indonesia reaches net zero by 2050.
For Repower, the report is especially relevant because Indonesia is a major coal producer and consumer, and the roadmap directly addresses how coal use can be reduced while building a cleaner, more resilient energy system.
